Biography
Dr. Ryan Cook is uniquely trained in both Periodontology & Prosthodontics to provide comprehensive oral health care and smile transformations that last a lifetime. Dr. Cook is well known for delivering the highest level of personalized care using the latest technology in periodontics, prosthodontics, and implant dentistry, and has helped thousands of people achieve their ideal healthy smile.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Cook graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California before pursuing specialty training at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio in a dual residency program in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. During his residency, he completed his Master of Science, exploring the topic of Periodontal Phenotype/Biotype and Labial Plate Thickness. Dr. Cook is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology.
In addition to being a renowned clinician with dual board certifications, Dr. Cook served as the Chair of Restorative Sciences, Director of the Advanced Education in Prosthodontics Program, and Director of the Advanced Education in Periodontology Program at UNC-Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry. He is passionate about teaching other oral health professionals to help them deliver a high level of patient care. Dr. Cook continues to further the field of dentistry through scientific research and education on a wide range of topics related to dental implants and restorative treatments.
Outside of work, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, hiking, running, and playing volleyball, baseball, and basketball.
